Halloween costumes
Halloween is definitely my favorite holiday. I even included my cats in on the Halloween festivities this year (!)

Paper Dress

In Intermediate Sculpture Class, we recently had a project to make a sculpture out of paper. That was the only stipulation--that it had to be made out of some form of paper. It could be stapled, glued, taped, burned, crumpled, or manipulated in any other way.
For my project, I used maps of Illinois and Pennsylvania (picked up at rest stops on long, summer road trips), and paper Whole Foods bags from work for the majority of the dress. For the flower-like decorations, I used rolled up pieces of paper from a finished book of Sudoku puzzles. I used shredded paper to decorate the neckline and bottom hem.

I used staples and glue for all of it--no sewing. It didn't come out perfectly, but I think I did all right considering I've never made a piece of clothing this complicated before, let alone out of paper. My next dress will definitely be out of fabric, as the durability and practicality of this piece is certainly questionable :)

Design blogs make me feel warm and fuzzy inside. I waste (enjoy) way too much time looking at them. I especially enjoy:

Long time, no blog.
It's been over a year since I've used this blog, but now is the time for a revival! I want to write about my arts, crafts, inspiration, and random life happenings. I also want to try and take more photos and post them on here. Here goes.

Stop-motion video
I made this for my intermedia class this last semester. It's not the greatest, but damn, stop-motion is time consuming. It was fun to do, even though I was exhausted and sore from bending over for hours to take the pictures on the ground.
Also, here's the music video I made for that class:
